Support From Across The Pond

Dear Governor Spitzer and Mayor Bloomberg:

My cousin, Robert Evans, FDNY, was amongst those who died needlessly on
9/11/2001.

I am shocked and horrified by the callous attitude of the City of New
York and of the state of New York toward those who yielded the
supreme sacrifice and to those who remain. This is not the first time
that I have been so shocked and horrified.

As one who has never been to your city my abiding image of New York
since early childhood has always been the harbour lady.

What of liberty, equality and fraternity now? Do these ideals now only
apply to land developers? Does the fraternal relationship with
developers over-ride the fraternity that is surely the due of the bereaved?

Please reconsider your decision and respond positively to the request
expressed so clearly by the families below.

Yours sincerely,

Donal Windrim
