9/11 ACTION ALERT
Dear 9/11 Families:The Senate is scheduled to begin debate this week on a bill to implement
many of the remaining 9/11 Commission’s recommendations. However, there is a
danger that the topic of a resolution on the war in Iraq will be introduced
in conjunction with the 9/11 bill. If that happens, it will likely create
controversy and divisiveness, and may even end in defeat of the 9/11 bill.
Iraq and the 9/11 bill each deserve separate and distinct consideration.
Please call the offices of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority
Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday, 2/26 (see phone numbers below) to voice
your opposition to having any debate or bill that combines Iraq and the 9/11
bill (S-4). State that you want a ‘clean’ 9/11 bill and that it should be
debated and voted on before, and separate from, any debate or resolution on
Iraq or other issue.
