If the events of the past few weeks have shown anything, they have shown that history is being written at Ground Zero.

The foundation is being poured for the Freedom Tower and construction is at a fever pitch.

Money continues to be raised by the Memorial Foundation and new construction is happening throughout Lower Manhattan.

WTC 7 opened as one of the first fully “greened� buildings in the history of New York City.

History in the making everywhere you look.

But when it comes to Ground Zero whose history will it be.

The Mayor continues to state that everything possible is being done to find any remains at and around Ground Zero.

At the same time many from within and without the current search team has expressed serious concerns about the inadequacies of this search.

The Mayor has stated that JPAC is not necessary and the city went as far as to hire two ex team members to back up this claim.

Senators, Congressmen, Assemblymen and Councilmen have all asked to have JPAC brought in.

The Mayor has not approved the excavation of the service road, the basement of the Greek Orthodox Church or the search of surrounding rooftops.

Members of the current search team have confidentially stated that they do not understand why these areas are being avoided.

The Mayor Has approved a plan that will bring the sifted material to Fresh Kills once again.

We do not comprehend why anyone would even consider Fresh Kills after what happened to the sifted remains last time they were sent there.

Looking over this scenario it appears that it is not history that is being written but “his story�

Everything that gets in the paper about the current search comes from the Mayor’s Office.

This is not the first time that this has happened.

Remember shortly after 9/11.

The Federal government offered to come in to help with the recovery effort but they were told they weren’t needed.

Different mayor same response.

So here we are five years later and the search is still not complete and the Federal government is still not involved.

But if you read about what is happening at Ground Zero all you here is that everything is under control and that everything possible is being done.

Unfortunately history will provide the real answers when we are still finding remains five years from now.

For us who don’t want to see that happen we must continue to fight for the truth and a comprehensive search by a qualified team.

We need to let the mayor know we want history to be written not “his story�

There were no finds today as no work took place at the site.

They have completed the search of the roof of the Millennium Hotel and have classified it as free of any remains.

Nothing planned for tomorrow or Sunday.

They will begin searching the other 3 buildings next week. No plan to expand the search.

Early next week they will begin excavating manholes 3 and 4 near the service bridge.

Work continues on 11 Water and they still hope to have it fully operational by 12/4.

It looks as if they are definitely going to store the sifted material at Fresh Kills.

Still nothing new on the service road or the basement of St. Nicholas’ Church.

It appears they are not going to deviate from their test drilling plan although many believe it is an obvious attempt at avoiding finds.

We are still looking for anyone who worked at the site to come forward if they have any information.

We along with a few other groups seem to be the only voice for the families.

As you might be aware we are not the only ones who are having major problems with a 9/11 Memorial.

Below please find a link to a website created by two family members dedicated to correcting the memorial in Arizona.

Please take a moment and check out the website.

This is a perfect example of what happens when people are not proactive.

It is also an example of why it is important that we get our Memorial right before it is built.

There is nothing once again to report.The search is at a total stand still as they continue to shore up manholes 3 and 4.

Best guess is that they will not get to actually excavate them until early next week.

I don’t believe I am saying this but it looks at if they are once again store the remainder of the sifted material at Fresh Kills.

They are saying that they may keep it in containers to prevent a repeat of what happened the last time.

They continue to totally ignore the feelings of the families. So much for compassion.

Work continues on 11 Water in the hopes of having the facility ready for 12/4.

PERSONAL ITEMS

Just so you know that even after numerous requests not one media outlet has pursued the improper handling of personal items story.

We are going to approach our elected officials (Clinton, Schumer and Spitzer) for help.

Do you realize that the woman portrayed in the CBS story over a month ago has still not gotten her items back even though she has proof that they were vouchered.

This alone should be enough for a follow up. Add to that the over $750,000 discrepancy in money and the over 500 pieces of missing jewelry and you would think the media would be all over this.

We will continue pursuing this until we get answers.

The American Society of Forensic Odontology held a meeting last week (see link below) and one of the speakers listed was Jeffrey R. Burkes D.D.S.

He was listed as the Chief Forensic Dental Consultant for the Philadelphia’s Medical Examiner’s Office.

Can anyone let us know if this is the same Jeffrey Burkes accused of prescription fraud?

If that is the case we are having a hard time figuring out how he could be working for The Philadelphia’s ME’s office while on leave from the NYC office.

We are still trying to find out if any 9/11 victims’ names were used in the alleged scam and found this in our research.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
